I have not played Bogey Hills Country Club in many years and, oh my, has it changed. This private course is likely the best kept golf secret in St. Louis. The course could easily compete with any of the top tier courses in St. Louis. But, because it is in St. Charles it does not get the recognition it deserves. Bad for St. Louisans; GREAT for St. Charlesians, and the surrounding communities. If there is not a long wait list to join this club something is wrong.

Bogey Hill Country Club is also as conveniently located as you will find, just to the south of I-70 and Zumbehl. The course has the look and feel of an old school country club with its fairways lined with large, mature trees and it is wonderfully manicured. The club house belies the its 60-year heritage since it was apparently rebuilt a few years ago because of a fire.

There are many white sand traps and mounds in the fairway and surrounding many of the greens. The roughs are a bit long but that could have been only on the day we visited. All of the grasses seem to be in wonderful condition. The large greens run true and have moderate undulation.

Since we were unable to play the entire course we will schedule another visit this fall and complete our review.
