The course was designed by Tom Weiskopf and it is one of the top courses in the state. Old Kinderhook Golf Course is in excellent condition and offers an excellent test of all facets of your game. Although the beautiful fairways were fairly wide, there is not a lot of room for error; accurate drives are critical for a good score. The greens were soft, yet fast, even though they had aerated the prior week. I wish they had incorporated the lake more prominently. It never comes into play and you can only see it on one hole. Old Kinderhook Golf Course at the Lake of the Ozarks is a must play if you are visiting the lake. Also, on my wish list would be shorter roughs. They are just to long and thick in many areas for my taste. The Old Kinderhook complex offers ample lodging on the grounds if you want to make a weekend of it.
