Comments: With a reputation as Columbia's premier country club, The Club at Old Hawthorne is a no-nonsense private club located a couple of miles east of Columbia. The course doesn't have much shtik but simply offers pure golf on a beautifully nurtured course. For whatever reason I had a terrible round with one of my highest scores posted in a few weeks. The large, undulating greens posed my biggest challenge, primarily since I had been playing on reasonably slow greens on the previous 6 courses. The greens were actually quite nice; my skill level was the sole culprit. The greens seemed to play much faster than their 9.5 Stimp. The wide lush fairways were lined with beautiful homes, owned by many of Mizzou's elite. All in all Old Hawthorne is a wonderful course and club.
